I must admit that this summer feels very off. It feels like the type of summer where you should just be as financially responsible as possible, but also try to enjoy the little things because spring and summer are only four months (at least here in Canada). So I have a humble summer list for my own version of a bad girl summer but on budget. Haha!
For me, summer usually comprises of fun dates, one to three concerts (depending on how well we planned for the future) and outdoor sports. I recently started weekly/biweekly swimming at the local community waterpark and making good use of their sauna. Ohhh that sauna!
GUNS AND ARROWS
I saw a girl I follow on you tube trying out Archery. I knew I had to try it out too! I just feel it in my bones that I'd be a natural. Not to mention the fact that the archery ground I want to go to has the automatic looking bows that seem to make it easier.
Speaking of shooting things, I'd also like to go to a gun range. I have wanted to for a while, so this is an attempt at ticking something off a list. Like the archery, I feel like I'd be a natural! haha!
MILKY WAYS AND GALAXIES
To simmer things down a little, we happen to have a place in my city, where they allow the general public on specific dates to use their sophisticated telescopes to look at the night sky, the milky way and galaxies. This I want to do so bad! Everyday I check on their website to see if they are selling tickets yet. Fingers crossed I don't miss out on July and August tickets!
SKY DIVING
This one I'm scared. Haha! This one is more for my own personal development. Being and adult and growing a career in a country where I don't have any family, requires me to always talk myself into doing hard things or things I perceive as hard. Sky diving is me just doing exactly that, going ahead and doing something I think should be scary.
CONCERTS
Last summer, some of our highlights were concerts. We saw Rema at the beginning of Spring, and two comedians - Dr. Phil and Theo Von. This June, we will go to watch Skillibeng! I'm ready! My partner and I are just listening and cramming all Skillibeng songs all June! I already bought my outfits as well! We might do only one concert this summer.
WINE AND DINE
I live in a city with such great restaurants and bars. These people go all out on the different country foods and themed bars. Summer allows us to move downtown at night much freely, so I look forward to bar and restaurant hoping on our date nights. My favorite cuisine eat so far have been Yemen and Afghanistan. My favorite bar experience hands down has been a Japanese bar. Check out your local Japanese bar. We liked it so much that is where we are doing our anniversary date in a few weeks.
