THE MAXIMALIST

In terms of interior design, I recently found myself starting to lean towards the maximalist style. My partner and I often create art, and we decided to put it up on the walls so we can see more of it. In addition to the art, we are both intrigued by the idea of whimsicalness. We very much want our place to feel like walking into some sort of artist's whimsical space, while at the same time mostly using items that we already have. My favorite is the  bike we decorated with led lights, stickers and dead flowers. Its such a conversation starter in the house. It makes me happy each time friend's come over and they are just walking around the walls like they are on an art tour. That is my version of maximalism.

Maybe you love buying clothes, or you love color so you wear all seven colors of the rainbow every single day. Maybe you're a collector of things. When I was first getting into maximalist interior design, someone on you tube made the claim that maximalists probably have a mental health issue. I do not agree, in fact I'd say every one switches between minimalism and maximalism depending on the time, era, mood etc. I myself consider my recent shift to maximalist design to be a huge sign of healing on my end. The fact that I'm in a place where I am inspired to make art and showcase it, and share this hobby with my partner. To each his own in the maximalist community as well! What are you into? What do you collect if any? Have you had a maximalist era before? Do you want to try it out? Comment below! Haha! I'm truly so nosy.
